Welcome to the Application Process!

 
We are glad that you decided to join us on one of our programs. Your program will be an exciting and enjoyable experience; however there is some bureaucratic paperwork to get behind us first. We tried to streamline the application process as much as possible. Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received until the respective program is full. Minimum age at the beginning of the program is 18 for all programs. Minimum cumulative GPA is 2.5. Applicants must be currently enrolled (undergraduate or graduate level) in a university or  they can be recent graduates.

Before you apply, please read all program information carefully, as well as the policies available on the “policies” tab on top of the page. Ask us any questions you might have.

The application forms are in pdf format. If you don’t have Acrobat Professional or Adobe Reader installed on your computer, please download the free Adobe Reader from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Step 1: Write a Statement of Purpose: In max 600 words (typed), please discuss your objectives for participating in the summer study program you have chosen. The essay should focus in particular on how this experience will contribute to your academic and personal development and career goals. The essay will be an important factor in the selection of program participants..

Step 2: Download the Application Forms that apply to the program of your choice. Just above the application form, a bar will show; check-mark “Highlight Fields” on the right of that bar for the “interactive form fields” to show in the form. Please fill in the required information in the interactive form fields on the computer (not by hand), and then print the forms with the information included. Make sure that you have access to a printer when you fill in the information! If you use the free Adobe Reader, you can fill in the information on your computer and print it. However, you cannot save the completed form on your computer (only the application form with the blanks) for printing later. If you use Acrobat Professional, you can save the completed form on your computer.

Step 3: Please write a check for the Application Fee in the amount of $ 500, payable to Center for Cross-Cultural Cooperation.

Please make sure that you application package is complete:

      1.       Statement of Purpose (typed)
2.      
Application forms, parts A and B (and C where applicable)
3.      
Check for the application fee
4.   2 recent passport photos.

The application is only complete and will only be considered if the application is accompanied by a check for the application fee. The application fee is $ 500 and the check has to be made out to the Center for Cross-Cultural Cooperation. The application fee applies to the program costs and reduces it by this amount. The application fee is only refundable if the applicant is not admitted to the program!

 Application Form for the Thailand Reef Conservation Expedition (click here): For this expedition, we select only a small team of participants, therefore early application is highly recommended. We apologize for this application form being so comprehensive due to PADI requirements. PADI is the world’s biggest association of scuba diving instructors, and it sets safety and training standards globally. Scuba diving is one of the safest recreational sports if safety standards are followed closely. The expedition closely follows PADI standards. Therefore we have to ask you to fill in all the standard PADI forms (pages C/1-C/4). Applicatios closed for 2009!
